Can you keep a recording of a private show on a cam site?
In one sentence
A private show the platform records for you, so you can watch it again on the site afterwards, when the performer or the platform allows it.
A copy of your private, on the site
Some platforms let you keep a recording of the private show you paid for.7 On MyFreeCams it is automatic: your private shows are recorded and you can watch them again in your Archives, at no cost.7 On Chaturbate, the terms record private shows by default and let the broadcaster turn the option off.4 Its help adds that the request window tells you whether you will receive a recording.5 On Stripchat the model decides: if you see “You can save this show” when you click “Start Private”, the recording is on.1, 2 Cam4 does not provide a recorded copy of a live private show unless it is expressly offered.9
Yours to watch, not to keep
The recording stays on the platform.10 Stripchat recordings cannot be downloaded or saved to your device, and the model gets a copy too.10, 3 Chaturbate gives the buyer a license to view the recording through the platform.6 BongaCams writes that a saved private chat remains its intellectual property, for your personal use only.11
Not guaranteed
MyFreeCams warns that if a private show is not recorded, or its video is corrupted, the tokens are not refunded: that money goes to the model.8 If the recording matters to you, check that the option is on before you start a private show.
Recording it yourself is forbidden
The terms of MyFreeCams and Flirt4Free forbid you to record what you watch.12, 13 The platform, for its part, keeps a trace: LiveJasmin writes that it monitors and records the messages of private chats.14
