A fee before the show
On Flirt4Free, a customer who has not yet used a payment account successfully on the site may have to pay a $4.50 access charge to start a Play & Pay show.1 Play & Pay shows are available in private chat only and are billed to your card at the end of the show.6 You are told before you start: the charge is stated on the START SHOW menu.3
Deducted, not lost
The $4.50 is charged to your payment account at once, then deducted from the show’s bill.5, 2 Flirt4Free gives its own example: you pay the $4.50 fee, the show costs $15.00, and your card is charged $10.50 at the end.4 The same document says the fee is applied as a discount on future purchases; what happens if a show costs less than $4.50 is not said.5
What else appears on your bill
On Flirt4Free, the charge appears on your bank statement under the name of a payment processor, which the site presents as discretion.7 Customers in the European Union may be charged VAT, shown on the billing receipt.8 On Cam4, token purchases carry a transaction fee for the payment processors; that FAQ does not give its amount, so check the total before you confirm.9 What a token costs before such fees is explained on its own page.
