Best for Privates, New Models, VR Cams: what the categories mean

In one sentence

Lists Stripchat sorts models into, each with its own rule: a rating of private shows by viewers, a promotion for new models, a VR stream.

A category is a list with a rule

Stripchat writes that categories help viewers find what they want to see and bring the right traffic to a model’s room.⁸ Each category has its own condition, and its help for models writes the condition of three labels shown on its pages.⁹

Best for Privates: other viewers’ ratings

A model appears in Best for Privates when the rating of their private shows is between 4 and 5.¹ Only viewers who spent at least 2 minutes in a private show have their rating counted, and the category uses the votes of the past 6 months.^{2, 3} It is a rating by other viewers, not a check by Stripchat, and it says nothing about the price of the show.^{our reading, source 1, 2}

New Models: a promotion

New Models is a promotion.⁴ For up to 30 days and 80 streaming hours, Stripchat gives a new model a “NEW” badge on their thumbnail and a place in the New Models category, to improve their visibility.^{4, 5} Being listed tells you how recently a model started, nothing more.^{our reading, source 4}

VR Cams: a headset

Some models stream in 4K full VR, and Stripchat marks them with a VR icon or lists them under VR Cams.⁶ Watching in VR needs a VR headset.⁷

Where these rules are written

These rules come from Stripchat’s help articles, most of them written for models. A help page is not a contract: Stripchat can change it without a trace, and the category you see follows the rule of the day you look. Cam4 and LiveJasmin also show a New Models label, and none of their documents we read writes what it means.
