Automatic token refills: what do they charge, and how to stop them?

Auto Top-up: your last package, again and again
When you buy a token package on BongaCams, you can turn on Auto Top-up.1 From then on, each time your balance falls to a set level, the platform withdraws money from your card for the same package, through the same payment provider, and adds the tokens.1 For the smallest package, 47 tokens for $3.99, the trigger is 10 tokens left; for every other package it is 90 tokens.14
No limit until you turn it off
The terms say it plainly: there is no limit on the number of automatic withdrawals.2 The option stays active until you deactivate it in your account settings, which you can do at any moment.3 If your last purchase was the 46,211-token package, each top-up is another $2,500.00.our reading, source 1 Only three declined payments in a row suspend it.4 Auto Top-up requires two-step verification on your account.8
Instant buy: one click during a show
The Instant buy button appears in paid shows when your balance is down to about a minute and a half, and in free chat when you have 45 tokens or less.6 It is offered to subscribers whose oldest card purchase is at least two months old and who use two-step verification, and it can be used ten times in a row.7, 5
The same on Chaturbate and CamSoda
Chaturbate offers an Auto-Token Refill: the package you buy is bought again with the payment information on file each time your balance reaches a level you choose.9 You authorize a charge each time, you are notified after each refill, and you can change or disable it at any time in your account settings.10 On CamSoda, Easy Re-ups buy tokens automatically when your balance runs low; they are turned on and off under Settings, then Settings & Privacy, then Easy Re-ups.11 Stripchat writes that your payment details may be kept on file by itself or its payment processors.13
Spend now, pay later
Some CamSoda users have a Token Credit: it lets them spend tokens up to a daily limit and be charged later.12 The limit is set under Settings, Daily Spending Limit.15
Before you rely on any of these options, check what a token really costs and that bought tokens are rarely refunded.
