What does spy mean on a cam site, and what does it cost?
In one sentence
Paying to watch a private show someone else booked, with the image and sound but without joining the conversation.
What you get, what you don’t
MyFreeCams spells it out: you receive all the video and audio of the private, but not the private chat between the performer and the member who booked it. You watch, you do not take part.
The rate
BongaCams lists Voyeur/Spy chat at 15 tokens a minute. MyFreeCams bills 20 tokens a minute, one token every 3 seconds. Stripchat lets you look for free during the first 15 seconds, once per show, then charges a rate set by the performer between 4 and 60 tokens a minute. On Chaturbate, some broadcasters require a minimum token balance before you can start spying.
No refund
Stripchat writes that it never refunds tokens spent spying on another person’s private show. A spy minute that disappoints stays paid.
Avoiding spies
The member who books the private can usually pay more to keep spies out. Each platform gives that option its own name.
